JANE AND The DRagon visual effects COMPOSITING @ weta productions
Gabriel worked as their visual effects compositor - with a team of visual effects artists and animators, at Weta Productions in Wellington, New Zealand. The show is headed by the academy award-winning Sir Richard Taylor and distributed by Nelvana Canada. The team includes artists working on Lord of The Rings, King Kong, and Nardia. Character animation relies heavily on motion capture. The visual effects aesthetics of Jane and the Dragon is based on coloured pencil illustrations - a illustrative book series by Martin Baynton. The program is aired on YTV in Canada, ABC in Australia, Five in the UK. Disney Junior on Disney Channel.
WOTWOTS LIVE ACTION COMPOSITING AT WETA WORKSHOP
Gabriel was invited back to Weta Productions as their visual effects compositor for the new animated live-action series WotWots. The project requires all CG animation and renders to be composited seamlessly into background footages shot by the team at Weta. Compositing techniques include filmic colour grading, 3D tracking and rotoscoping, and keyframe animation.
