Gabriel spent a year travelling across the United States and New Zealand to work with industry veterans and colleagues to develop the Bachelor of Computer Generated Imagery programme at NMIT. The level 5-7 BCGI programme is accredited by the national - NZQA, and endorsed by Weta Digital. Students learn industry skills in a studio-based classroom environment, and gets mentorship by colleagues working in the film and game entertainment industry. Gabriel develops the curriculum, studio facility, and software applications addressing the latest trends and technological advancements in the field of film animation, visual effects, and real-time game development. The BCGI programme fosters international students relations - Gabriel facilitates, designs and ensures overseas partner programmes are on par with the curriculum he develops in New Zealand.

The highlight of developing industry-relevant visual effects animation, and game development programme is having collaborative consultation with colleagues working at top feature and game studios, and studying the education framework from top-ranking institutions. Gabriel had wonderful opportunities to visit Gnomon School of Visual Effects, Riot Games, NaughtyDog, The Mill, MPC and work with colleagues at Weta Digital - to ensure the curriculum, and classroom projects meet the standards required by the industry. Fruitful discussions with colleagues back at SCAD Atlanta reinforces the international quality and endorsement of Gabriel’s curriculum design, and classroom projects.
